G'day loves (yes I have decides to go back to the usage of love) walshy had the idea of this thread and I thought well why not make it into a reality.

Anything your curious about for the local people of Australia I can give ya my best in answering or anything you want to know, I have been around almost every corner of this great land either living or camping and it is truly amazing

if I cannot answer your questions I will defer you to Dramatic Geko

walshy
you made it ! w00t

okay questions, do you really like putting shrimp on the barbie? are spiders bigger than people there? how close have you been to being killed by the various animal life?

Morning_Glory
Are the spiders really that big?

Genesis-Soldier
1. I am a massive shrimp fan and every Christmas and Australia day I have a barbeque with my family, there is always shrimp (honestly it taste better on a Barbie unless you pan fry it in butter)

2. no, spiders are not bigger then people. the biggest spiders in the world are the size of dinner plates and not found in Australia

3. the closest I was to being killed by the local wild life was being chased by a Costal Taipan in my back yard, our wild life would usually go for you unless you disturb them or get dangerously close to them

Morning_Glory
These are huge spiders

Genesis-Soldier
-_- cant see them

Morning_Glory
Can you have a kangaroo as a pet like this-- actually this just seems so wrong

http://i62.tinypic.com/2nlef54.jpg

Scribble
Is it true that you guys have no interest whatsoever in Foster's lager?

Genesis-Soldier
once again I cannot see images, not really people don't have kangaroos as official pets. mostly because they are considered a pest in the outback and around the rural areas of Australia

I met a fella in Alice Springs who had a bond with a kangaroo but it wasn't his pet. it could do small tricks and what not but apart from that it lived out bush with his herd/ pod/ what ever you call a group of roo's

Genesis-Soldier

no idea, that's more a personal populace question but I have seen the cans around on the streets

that basically the big 4 of beers

Genesis-Soldier
I am looking into making a sheath for my machete.

rudester
Would an Australian hug a koala bear? Even though it might scratch out their eyes?

Genesis-Soldier
yes and no, usually we tend to leave them alone and the fact that they don't always like to be hugged if they are not use to human contact tends to reinforce the fact

AsbestosFlaygon
Do poisonous/venomous creatures invade private property in a regular basis?

Genesis-Soldier
depends on locations. generally its the spiders that do this the most as snakes tend not to.

depends on the spider- red backs prefer places like the shed or outside rather then inside where its a bit less busy.

although snakes do tend to establish them selves in the roof, especially carpet snakes

Are there any Australian sandwich shop chains? Like Subway, Blimpie's, etc? If so are they regional or nation wide? If not, where can a guy who likes sandwiches get sandwiches? Give me the deets.

what is your favourite sport? australian rules football? rugby?

we do have subways and yes they are national

I like a good sandwich so I will help you out:
- don't always go to a servo, its unlikely to find a good sandwich (sanga)
- roadhouses are your best bet when on the trip to and from a state, we aussies tend to remember the best places you can get some tucker and we rarely find a round house that wont do a good sandwich
- local area wise I would recommend finding a good, well known bakery

Genesis-Soldier

I don't like him, his stance on gay marriage and child abuse misdirection's give me the shits. yes it is hard to run a country but to keep youth unemployment on the rise to 28% is just criminal. not only that but his views against boat people and asylum seekers goes against UN laws

a lot of aussies are bogan drinking asses who are ignorant of asylum seekers but a lot of us are educated and believe in a fair go(we have rednecks just the same as you guys).

personally I like contact sports and chess. AFL is good and all but our Rugby is better

Genesis-Soldier

hehe I can think of quite a few ways to answer this but I think I will be sensible

the average Australian size is just above the global average.

as to your question of my personal size I can honestly say (and you can chose to believe this or not) that I am above the Australian average and I haven't found myself in a situation where size hasn't been a let down

I have a few mates from fraiser island, sherburg and the kimberlies

not the Pintupi

the general opinion can be mixed, some are rascist bastards. some are passive neither here nor there and there are accepting and do ya need a hand brother auusies like me

bells beach, Noosa, stradbroke island, Bondi (always crowded thou), Byron bay (be careful around bluesfest time) and 75 mile beach. these are the best beaches I have been to, they are varied in location but if you want a more 'local' beach location if your ever in Australia I suggest you google it

Vietnam, America, tasmiania (inside joke), south korea,

honestly I wish I had more time in America because the foods and culture was amazing- new York

south korea was the most fun for me due to my martial arts classes I was allowed to help teach, the black smithing course I took to improve my metal work and over all just the idea that I found peace in myself the whole time I was there

funny story thou- we were in a little bar/ bath house and it was hot inside and we were drinking what was almost turpentine strength spirits. any was I took off my jumpers and what not then we heard the taxi pull up. it was 15 meters away from the house so we walked there and hopped in

I was blue by the time I walked the 15 to the taxi because it was winter and a very cold

well I have known some very strong women (both physically and emotionally) which is generally tied into our 'true blue' ideals of culture

sex wise it depends- I haven't had a massive amount of sexual partners but from what I have experienced its always been aggressive and passionate- normally because that's my biggest fetish- aggressive-

I guess it really depends on the woman, I am sure there are Canadian women who are just the same but I haven't had sex with Canadian women so I cant give a totally accurate answer. but yeah from what I have discovered a lot of girls/ women here are passionate and usually fierce

its a bloody big sandstone rock that is very steep and from what I remember just over 850 meters high

jumping off that would kill you

RanebowSmack

stuff wise- Eb games, pubs, Bunnigs warhouses, Home timber and Hardware, scrap yards, movies, school and parks

Women in Montreal are known to be easy going and will approach guys first. But here in Toronto where I live, the women have a reputation for being snobbish, stuck up and materialistic. That's why Kyla was such a blast. "You Canadians don't know how to party!" she declared to me the night we met. Because I could keep up with her, I became her Canadian fling.

I have visited Australia twice in the years since, just because of my experiences with her. If I could immigrate to anywhere else, it would be there. smile

they aren't as dramatized as seen in movies and what not. normally its two fella's have a punch up and some nasty collateral damage coming out.

but yeah brawls happen but its nots quite Dukes of hazard. its just a standard bar fight that gets a few fellas or ladies getting kicked out
