This is an interesting battle, I thought.

ROTS Palpatine vs rotsnovel!Grievous.

- Lightsabers only battle (Force for augmentation).
- Grievous has all four lightsabers ; Palpatine has two.
- Palpatine's speed is peaked at 18 strikes per second.

Emperordmb
Kenobi's speed wasn't at eighteen strikes per second and he still took off two of Grievous's arms when he got up to twenty.

food for thought

DarthAnt66
I thought it was at eighteen, and then once it finally it twenty hit was too fast for him and overloaded his defenses. mmm

Kenobi was defending himself against Grievous's eighteen, but he didn't have the speed to dish out eighteen per second himself.

DarthAnt66
Sure, but he still had the speed to counter eighteen strikes per second.

Can Palpatine do the same considering a eighteen strikes per second offense max? mmm

FreshestSlice
Obi-Wan didn't need 18 strikes to chop off Grievous' hand. He only needed one.

Kenobi's own SPS is well under 12.

A far faster Sidious, who is already the better duelist, should take this no problemo.

"After all, he had often walked unscathed through hornet-swarms of blasterfire, defended only by the Force's direction of his blade; countering twelve blows per second was only difficult, not impossible. His blade wove an intricate web of angles and curves, never truly fast but always just fast enough, each motion of his lightsaber subtly interfering with three or four or eight of the general's strikes, the rest sizzling past him, his precise, minimal shifts of weight and stance slipping them by centimeters."

Sidious with ease.
