The fight takes place in Rainbase and it's surrounding desert of Alabasta.

Even back in Alabasta, Crocodile should have this. All Logia users are strong as Hell just on the fact that they're Logia users. And Crocodile is also a lot smarter than Sandman.

Plus Sandman can't counter Haki in any way, shape or form, and Crocodile is just a lot faster than him.

Did Crocodile has Haki back in the Alabasta Arc?

He didn't need to use it back then, but there's no reason why he wouldn't have it. As a rule of thumb in One Piece, pretty much every single Logia eater has Haki except that one joke character. The one who could turn into swamp.

Besides, he was also a Shichibukai, and considering even Vice-Admiral's have Haki in some form, it wouldn't be surprising that pretty much the only guy to fight evenly with Doflamingo and Sakazuki/Akainu would have it. Plus he took a full on hit from Jozu with pretty much no damage.

There's no way he doesn't have Haki. It just wasn't a thing back in the Alabasta arc so it wouldn't have been demonstrated.
