Seems about the right time to get the discussion going about Neill Blomkamp's new project.
So...they are going to ignore the events of Alien 3 & 4 like they never happened?

I know there are fans who will be pleased by this, but it just smacks of laziness to me. Fox and the filmmakers don't want to lie in the bed they made, won't reboot (although I guess Prometheus is somewhat of a reboot, making the AVP films non existent), and can't use a time travel plot device to start over, like Star Trek or X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
Know what the last film made that ignored it's previous two sequels like they never happened? - Superman Returns.
Plus bringing back not just Sigourney Weaver but Michael Biehn, it seems like excessive fan service.
