Classic Sebastian Shaw, no amps. WS Midnighter with nightstick, no other resources.
No prep. No BFR. 10 foot start distance.

Starting completely un-amped; I guess Midnighter could choke him out or something, if Shaw amps himself too fast MN will run out of options quickly

MN, no amps, with just a stick, choked out Winter, a far better energy absorber than Shaw.

I thought choking also provides kinetic energy?

By no amps i meant no (story related) power ups.
Every time i use a mutant it seems their current version is under some power up, like Cyclops having the Phoenix Force at one point.

Shaw always has a little energy stored from daily life movements, he's always superhuman in strength terms, so he may be able to push MN away from a choke hold until he gets super-amped.

Yeah. He starts the day with breakfast and wallpunching.

Mids also has some degree of superstrength, however.

Tigra was actually affecting him, and that slamming through the wall trick won't KO Midnighter. PLUS, I believe he was amped quite substantially by then.
