Really there just needs to be more corporate oversight into the kinds of dangerous things companies do. It also ties in with things like the Exxon Valdez spill or the more recent BP spill. Big corporations, regardless of country, need to be held accountable, I wish you'd agree, but you don't care if it is American owned companies.

TBF, those 2016 models were probably already built and sitting in storage before the scandal broke. Remember with cars, you can buy the next year's model close to a year before.

That's been the likely outcome for some time. If it was just a simple software reflash, this likely wouldn't have happened. VW cheated, because there was no viable alternative in having their diesels meet all the selling points of powerful, economic and clean.
