Alan beats the crap out of Hal so bad, that Hal is retcon and turn gay instead.

Alan has the Grey, the Red, the Black and the White inside of him now. What's even more impressive, is that he absorbed all the Green from the Multiverse itself.

Alan is now a beast to be retcon with. He even fought evenly, just for a little while against a Multiversal being like Darkseid.
