Vic (Question)

No way Ted could hold his own against Shiva even for a while

By Contrast Ted has lost twice to Selina.

Vic is also the better acrobat

Black Lanterns had no greater pwoers or abilities than they did as living characters. They were just blood lusted.

In their "second fight" as seen below Shiva States that Richard Dragon's peaceful ways have rubbed off on him. He didn't get "lucky he was being restrained which as shown in the Black Lantern scans when he's not he can certainly take it to her.

The First time was a test because she saw potential in him. She was then the one who sent him to Richard Dragon to be trained to develop that potential.

She then faought him again when he'd finished his training (the two scans are from both). In each of the alst two times there wasn't a winner, they simply agreed to work together.

Shiva certainly has respect for Vic

Like she has for few others (and ONLY reserves for those who she considers worthy opponents).

Let's not forget that Vic fights crime in what is supposed to be the most corrupt city in the US. The number of honest cops in the city are less than half a dozen. He has to fight the police as often as the mob. Hell when he managed to get his friend elected mayor to try and clean up the city she appointed the Bike Gangs as "warlords" over districts to fight crime for her.

Vic Faces a LOT more gritty and hardened stuff than Ted does and can take a LOT more punishment and just keep coming.

These can cover more than I can

Parts 1 to 5 are all SA and BA stuff long before Vic got trained.

I thought BLs also had insane regen?

I wouldn't call it "regen" but let's face it BL's are dead so not a lot you can do to them that way.
Having said that given that they aren't otherwise enhanced from their pre dead selves and that with another combatant on her side Shiva couldn't even tag a "bloodlusted" BL Vic and was pretty easily dealt with. Combined with the fact that in three other showings we have no decision either way and we have statements to the fact that Vic doesn't go as hard as he can in them.

I would say clearly places Vic on the second tier of combatants in 20th cent' DCU (first tier being Shiva, Bruce, David Cain, Dragon, Turner, Sensei, Slade etc). By Comparison we have Ted who pretty much fights nobodies every time. Ted would IMHO be third tier at best.

This is a good match up.
Vic certainly has great showings, but bearing in mind WC is a team hero, he's managed some good ones as well, especially soloing several villains in a running battle during Johns' JSA run.
I'm undecided.

Didn't Wildcat fight Batman?

riv6672
Fought/helped train him (and many others) depending on the version.

cdtm
Black Lantern's regrew limbs, reformed after being cut in pieces, set on fire...

Mogo dealt with an army of Black Lanterns by engulfing them into his molton core, and claimed they were being destroyed forever.

Vril Dox's son thought Starro (The humanoid warlord) was suicidal for even attempting to fight BL's, as he cut them in half.

So I'd say has Shiva managed to hit him, it wouldn't have any real effect.

I like BLTs.

Ted has had three fights with Bruce Wayne of which two aren't canon.

1. Fight one is in All Star Comics when E-2 Bruce Wayne (i.e commissioner Wayne) and Ted fought during the time Bruce believed that the JSA had done questionable things and turned against them. Bruce required the help of Robin the not so "Boy" wonder to stand a chance. not canon and E-2 Bruce <<<<<<< any other version in H2H

2. Joker had numerous people booby trapped with bombs and made Wildcat and Bat's fight. Ted was fighting seriously believing whoever won would easily take Joker. Bruce had more of his attention on Joker looking for an opening. It's pre COIE and also not canon. As well as having nothing to show.

3. In the Wildcat Batman mini of the mid 90's (IIRC). There was a cage fight where both Ted and Bruce had traced an illegal death match televised fighting ring to it's source. They were both blind folded and put into a cage fight against each other (to the death). Bruce even blindfolded recognized Ted's style very quickly and tried to tell Ted it was batman he was fighting. There are a few panels of Ted faring well while Bruce is taking it easy on him trying to talk him down. Ted even comments that if you were batman I wouldn't be doing this as easy. the instant Bruce decided to take it seriously he smashed Ted's mask with one punch, a little more play for the captors to get them in position before the two together just start taking down all and sundry around them.

I've seen both the later fights offered as evidence of the fact that Wildcat is Bat's league by using the scans out of context many times and it simply doesn't fly when you know the context.

Wildcat is a few leagues below Batman (as I said Tier three/ maybe four). Question is also below Bruce (don't get me wrong) but he's more capable of holding his own in that tier for a while.

I stand corrected. Honestly the only part of Blackest night etc I read was in the titles I was reading at the time ( Which was only JSA, JSA All Stars, and Rebels - well I was also reading Booster Gold and if it has still been going Doom Patrol, but not much Blackest night wise happened in either). I didn't catch on much to their regen.

Question though were they enhanced in any other way ???
