Go Bernie!

BackFire
Imagine if he breaks from the DNC and runs as a third party candidate.

Will read later.

Side Note: Western Illinois University has accurately predicted the elections since 1975 in their annual mock election; they predicted Sanders for 2016.

That could be disastrous for the Democrats.

Right move for Bernie. Even if this goes nowhere, he needs to cultivate a fighter image to fire up his base.

Imagine a four way race between Hillary for the Dems, Rubio or Cruz for the Republicans, and a disgruntled pair of renegades in Trump and Bernie.

It would probably end up 32, 27, 18, 23 or something like that, in that order.

That would be pretty frickin amazing.

Time-Immemorial
No doubt the DNC is screwing Sanders. And favoring Hilary over Sanders.

I was going to suggest that myself. If Trump and Bernie went third party, we might actually see the breakup of the usual two party layout. Or at least the beginnings of it.

Awesome to dream about at least.

As long as we have the electoral college in its current form the two party system will persist

Oh look what do you know, Hilary's campaign stole data from sanders Campaign.

Another Clinton scandal..

Err, you got that flipped. Sander's campaign viewed Clinton data they shouldn't have had access to, so the DNC turned around and shut Sander's campaign out.

Sanders is suing the DNC for shutting him out as it undermines his campaign.

See:

"Bernie Sanders' campaign on Friday sued the Democratic National Committee for suspending its access to the national voter database, saying the move threatens to undermine the Vermont senator's presidential run.

Even as the campaign admitted its staffers had inappropriately reviewed and saved Hillary Clinton campaign data made available as a result of a software error, it emphatically accused the DNC of sabotage and of blatantly favoring Clinton."

See:

"The internal warfare exploded after the DNC cut off Sanders from the database and said the Vermont senator's presidential campaign exploited a software error to improperly access confidential voter information collected by Hillary Clinton's team."

Time-Immemorial
Sanders files lawsuit against DNC for stacking the deck against him, DNC=Clintons>Sanders.

Another sham of these idiots.

Trump/Sanders Ticket.

Time-Immemorial
DNC scheduals all Democratic debates thus far on Saturdays and tomorrow night its going to be on for one of the biggest football games of the year. Cowboys vs Steelers.

Very shady lf the DNC, very shady of the Clintons.

Robtard
Are you implying that the DNC doesn't want the largest possible audience watching the Dem debates?

Because that's counterproductive to winning an election. You want people watching; you want people to get passionate about someone so they're more inclined to go out and vote.

Time-Immemorial
Not at all, it places Clinton as the top, they are making the debates on weekends and before holidays.

And quit playing games, the news is already talking about this, as well as the Sanders campaign and media correspondence.

Other way around- Some Sanders staffers looked at confidential data the DNC (which both campaigns use) had from Clinton's campaign, when the firewall glitched and left them a way in.

As always, you can't want Clinton into having a bigger role in a scandal. In this case, her roll is that some of her data someone else was holding got looked at. This is a Bernie scandal, unfortunately.

Due to the fact he viewed the punishment of the very-real breach his people used as excessive.

Chain of events-
DNC firewall between the campaign's information went down.
Bernie staffers took advantage and looked at data they really shouldn't have and knew full well they shouldn't have, stealing lists of names and such.
DNC responded by shutting the campaign's access to all data on the servers, not just the illicit information but also their own data on DNC servers.
Sanders calls that excessive, launches suit.
Some deal reached, access restored.

That list of events is pretty undisputed.

So with Sanders and the DNC coming to a compromise (they only had their access off for, like, 12 hours) the situation should be mostly over, but yea, his campaign got a black eye for it's actions, and Hillary's campaign is not at fault, save for being angry that they had data stolen.

It's not just the electoral collage, it's the 'first past the post' voting.

To change things, you'd need a runoff system, or a preference-system.

If you had a 'check all candidates you approve of,' vote, then third parties will be quite viable.

If you have a 'list your top three, in order. Your first vote will count unless there's no winner and they are the candidate with the least votes remaining, at which case your vote switches to the second' then they'd be viable.

And, well, there's a couple other methods. Anyway, the electoral collage is only part of the issue.
