But I was wondering if anyone else had a date (other than marriage and the kid's birthdays) that stick out in their minds..

I know..strange topic. (it's a "getting to know you" kind of question)

December 26, 1977 first time I saw Star Wars.
May 17, 1981 first time...... I was drunk.
It stands out cuz May 17 is Norways constitutional day/independance day. Last one in Grade School
We started school in 1st grade at age 7, grade school last six years. Then we were off to something in between Junior high school and Senior High.(7,8 and 9th grade)
Just a little about our schooling system.

19th July 1987

Your birthday?

No, just a special date.

August 16th 2001. Yes I know it hasnt passed yet but it is a vvery important date for me!

20th Birthday or Graduation day?

I suppose it is the equivalent of graduation day yes. Its when I get my A level results. And since when have I been 19?

Well it all went through for the new financial year (think it's 5th or 6th). God if it was on the first I would have thought they were taking the pish!

June 2, 1977 -first time I saw ANH.
February 8, 1988 - day I found out my ex-husband was cheating on me.
March 28, 1989 - day my divorce was final
(women just remember those kinds of things. )

My birthday isn't until July 14... can't think of any other dates that really stand out.

Dimmy streaking through Disney ?

Well afetr failing my driving test once I felt quite normal. After failing for a secong time it was mildly embarrassing but after failing for a third time I am officially inept!

Sorry to hear that Edna. Hope you're not gonna give up!

And Gundy, Dim DID NOT streak through Disney. Though I'm sure that would have been a sight to see.....

1. Most people on the road can't drive anyway, having passed their tests by luck, so don't feel inferior.
2. At least they'll let you TAKE the test.
3. Your enforced continuation of cycling will keep you fit
4. You have all your friends here to give you supporting comments from the heartfelt to the patronising...

Actually, did you ever drive in England? The funny thing is that almost everyone avoids the "slow" lane (i.e. left hand lane), therefor it's always empty and all the slow folk drive in the middle lane. So odd.

Did you ever drive in the States? And you're STILL alive? Wow!

I prefer to drive in the States, much more relaxed style of driving. Now if they would just stop all that automatic transmission rubbish I'd be really happy.

They've got MUCH better roads, to be sure. But their truck drivers... to them, speed limits are just for other people...

Germany is the best though. No speed limitations. Excellent.

And automatic transmission is fantastic. I'd love to have one. Why jiggle that stupid stick around. Traffic is slow at rush hour anyway, why keep your foot on the clutch all the time. It's unnecessarily trying and painful after a while.

Besides, with automatic transmission one can drive more sportively than with stick. Kick down is heaven.

Actually the only people who adhere to speed limits are people you are following when you are in a rush. I mean are they psychic or somethig? Geez!

Hang in there, Edna...you WILL pass your test. I know it stinks right now, but like Dimmy said, someday you will look back on it and laugh. We're all behind you here 100 percent. (hug hug).
