ESB Luke vs TFA Rey

Rey who defeated Kylo after closing her eyes
ESB Luke just before he confronts Vader. No injuries.

Not really. I re-watched the movie a few days ago.

Kylo consistently had a problem where he'd knock his foes back, but they'd have time to recover because he had to pause and recover thanks to his wound. He was consistently able to put them on the back foot and throw them off-balance, but unable to press any advantage he made, and even so, still pushed Rey up to the side of the chasm.

Rey's defense, basically, sucked. Once she turned to the force, she was able to overwhelm Kylo with offense- again his lack of maneuverability from the wound hindering him- but at that point she wasn't defending from his attacks, she just took advantage that he gave her another breather to go on the offense.

Luke, if he's attacked, can defend and back up without leaving the big openings because he doesn't have a hole in his side, so if she does the same thing, he can weather it without taking damage. In return, Rey has not shown anything like the defense needed to stop his attacks.

In the ROTS Novelization it's flat out told to us Anakin and Obi Wan out react to Tri fighters electronic reflexes which calculate stuff at the speed of Light. Magnaguards and Grievous are also stated to have electronic reflexes, although the Magnaguards are stated to have Near Lightspeed reflexes. This is all from the ROTS Novelization, which is 100% canon since none of those statements really conflict with what's shown in the movies.

And heck, having lightspeed transmission medium.... btw, electronics aren't really lightspeed, going through matter slows electricity down... is much different than calculating in no time.

Which in turn, is slower than the actuators of a droid arm or muscles.

He also moved several crates and R2 while upside down. He also showed bladework that even impressed Vader, showed deflecting objects with the Force and so on.

Post training with Yoda, I don't see him losing to Rey at all.

Kylo was easily defending against her stabs early on- in which she overextended. She *only* managed to do anything at the end.
