Speed is equalized, so that there is no debate there.

Piccolo has basic knowledge of J'onn, but J'onn starts with no knowledge about Piccolo.

Piccolo has basic knowledge of J'onn, but J'onn starts with no knowledge about Piccolo.

Why?

Furthermore, what's going to stop J'onn from reading his mind?

CosmicComet
I figure J'onn is a lot stronger than Piccolo, so I would give Piccolo the knowledge edge to start with.

So Piccolo knows the basic rundown of J'onn's abilities and his major weakness.

If J'onn can mind-read him in the middle of the fight then more power to him, but he won't start with any knowledge luxury.

KingD19
At one point can't Piccolo breathe fire? That'd be a big handicap for John.

CosmicComet
Dunno.

He can use generic ki beams at least.

Piccolo has magic though, I'm sure he can conjure up some fire.

Nusa105
Isn't Piccolo is basically DBZ version of J'onn?

Anyway, i think J'onn still takes this

Decter
Piccolo really has no counter for MM's phasing and telepathy

respectchecker
Telepathy and phasing are too much for Piccolo to deal with.

carthage
J'onn tps him

CosmicComet
What about fire? Pretty sure piccolo can conjure that.

NotAllThatEvil
if piccolo can summon clothing frim nothing im pretty sure he can make fire.

He has laser cannons instead of eyes - that'll do.

Surtur
Due to the stipulations I think J'onn wins via telepathy.

carver9
Piccolo blitz him to sleep.

There's no debate. Anyone besides non delusional fanboys know Martian Manhunter is faster.

But under these stips J'onn stomps, obviously. Much too versital, and more than capable of defeating the entire JLA, Superman included.

CosmicComet
Read the op, Carver.

Martian Manhunter is one of the most powerful, and most poorly written characters ever.

Capable of beating just about anyone 100/100 if written properly.

Yeah, I accidentially reply to the next post down by mistake all the time, too. wink

Characters in DBZ utilize combat speed vastly more often and thus have a lot more feats with it. The characters who have it in comics do not use 1/10th as often. J'onn especially has so many powers that yeah he pretty much have a small handful of usable speed feats. I personally do not view Martians as having quite as high end super speed as some other characters have.

So he would get blitzed by Piccolo if speed was on, but if not then he just gets his mind shut down. Yep some might mention Piccolo creating fire, but they start half a mile apart and J'onn has ways of avoiding a physical attack while Piccolo is kind of screwed when it comes to dodging a psionic attack that has no real projectile to get out of the way of.

Good post thumb up I agree.

Unbiased and I can't find anything to nitpick.

carver9
Piccolo holds every advantage.

CosmicComet
He doesn't have 'every advantage'.

As the op says, speed is equalized so that can't be debated on either way.

J'onn is clearly much stronger than Piccolo physically, and also has TP.

Piccolo however has knowledge of all of J'onn's abilities and weaknesses. So fire fire fire will be on his mind.

Piccolo is also a better fighter though.

NotAllThatEvil
So j'onn has mind powers , but piccolo has kami who also has sone level of telepathy. How much mental power does one need to resist a martian?

EmperorThanos
Martian Manhunter is far to versatile. With speed Equalized Piccolo's advantage in this fight is lost. In physical strength MMH is probably superior
But the major difference is in versatility Piccolo doesn't have any telepathy feat form what I know and MMH can phase through attacks which will help him avoid taking fire.

EmperorThanos
yeah under these circumstances, Piccolo gets shut down telepathically.
