What is Vader doing?

It just occurs to me. Why send Inquisitors to hunt down the Jedi, when Vader could just do it himself. I mean what is he busy doing, that he can't go Jedi-hunting?

ares834
Because that would end the story pretty damn quickly.

Darth Abonis
I obviously know that, but what is the in-universe reason. Does Vader consider it too beneath him to chase Rebels. Does he just sit in his meditation pod all day?

ares834
There is no real in-universe reason other than he is too busy with other stuff. What this other stuff is, I dunno. Nor is it really important.

AncientPower
Ahsoka's rebels are unlikely to be the sole rebel/Jedi cell he has to deal with. He has to manage the entire Inquisitorious, serve as Supreme Commander of the Imperial military under Sidious and Tarkin(sort of), and plenty of other galactic fronts he has to crack.

Edit: Whoops forgot the time dates.

Because only Vader can make Maul his *****

He'll pop up if there's a significant threat, but really, he's got a lot to do in the Empire.

The whole point *of* Inquisitors is so the Sith don't have to waste their time on small fry.

Sinious
Damn, when did Ahsoka become less important than the random Jedi Vader went after?

red8
We don't know what is going on in other parts of the galaxy. The rebels we follow are just one cell. If the Emperor told Vader to send inquisitors then there must be bigger fish for Vader to fry. The galaxy is a big place after all. There could be worlds in open rebellion or even entire sectors that need Vader.

Trocity
Maybe Vader is trying to locate Yoda/Kenobi?

Just accept there's no good reason why Vader wouldn't be the one personally hunting them down.

Like, it's his former apprentice and two Jedi leading the rebel cell. It's sort of above the Inquisitors' pay-grade to be successful in capturing them. And if there were other large-scale rebellions in other systems we would have heard about it, seeing as how Ahsoka and Bail would be very aware of the goings on throughout the Galaxy, for the most part.

Also, blame Palpatine- he told Vader to send Inquisitors after the rebels instead of pursuing them personally.

Kurk
Because he's sitting on his @$$ all day mourning Padme. Why else?

Or the galaxy is really freaking big and Vader does have off-screen things to take care of. We didn't see every battle of the Clone Wars and we are only going to see a small part of the rebellion.

This rebel cell is pretty big and has vast connections. Ahsoka Tano, a direct link to Vader's past life, is one of the leaders of the rebel cell, and there are two Jedi that are heavily involved with them. What could possibly be more important for Vader to be attending to? More rebel cells? Okay, if there are more rebel cells, is it really possible they are larger and more well-organized than the one Bail Organa funds and Ahsoka Tano is involved with? Are there even more Jedi in these cells that Vader needs to pay attention to? Ones that take precedence over Ahsoka's rebels? I find that extremely doubtful, and if so, I'm sure better use of the Inquisitors could be made in situations like those, instead of them being the ones leading the hunt against Ahsoka and the other Jedi, given how Vader was the one who pushed them out of Lothal and crushed most of their fleet, and he actually knows Ahsoka.

It's extremely unlikely there are more pressing rebellions that need to be quelled, and if there were more widespread rebellions and rebel cells, it's sort of Ahsoka's job to be connected with them and have established relations with them, so I think we would have heard about them. Take note that the rebels we see in the show (the Ghost crew) are actually kind of supposed to be the catalyst for the larger rebellion we see in the OT.
