I did. Although it was just called Hardcore at that time.

It does now. When the movie was released at the Toronto international film festival in Sept last year it was just called "Hardcore"

not really interested in this. I liked the music video, but an entire movie in fpp seems like it would get old and repetitive.

This movie KICKED ASS. Wish the mods would change the title to it's appropriate name though. Supposed to be Hardcore Henry.

8/10 at the least for me. Really, really fun.

A little more in depth review:

Hardcore Henry is a 96 minute roller-coaster of a movie. Do you like action? Do you like Parkour? Do you like explosions? Do you like first person shooters?

Now, I know what you're thinking; that all sounds like it would suck in a movie format. Well, it doesn't. It is a tremendously fun experience. Sharlto Copley is great in the movie, and is really the only fleshed out character. But he's great, and his plot is pretty cool.

There are several absolutely hilarious moments in the movie:
one involving a billy club; another a horse riding attempt....I'll let you guys figure out the rest

This movie KNOWS the premise is dumb, but it never takes itself overly serious. It just wants to entertain you and it does. I had more fun at this movie than any movie this year, including Deadpool.

Again, solid 8/10 for me; with the only real problems being slightly weak plot and villain.

this looks like a lot of fun but it also looks like it would get old and repetitive.

i'll watch it online at some point.

I have others films this year for plot, story and acting, eg Money Maker, Birth Of A Nation, The Founder

It is nice that Hollywood can make a movie that isn't a 3 hour bladder buster. I am just concerned that I will need to take a box of Dramamine before seeing this.

I suppose if you have a weak stomach you might not want to watch this in theaters though. The shaky cam really is only a problem at the beginning of the movie; it gets a lot better after that.

Every time I see a commercial I flash back to the Blair Witch ....although that sick feeling was due more to it being a shitty movie then the shaky cam.

Yeah the Motion Sickness angle had me worried at first but after about 10 or 15 min I didn't notice it anymore. And the TV Commercials didn't do it any justice when seen on the big screen.

That and Sharlto Copley stole the damn movie ever time "he" showed up.

Hilarious movie. About as over the top, violence filled craziness you can expect from a movie. I burst out laughing at loads of the deaths. Great fun.

So I wanted to like this so bad. I was excited to see something sort of original with massive amounts of gratuitous violence and nudity, and the action was pretty cool, some of it at least, but my god, they overdid the shaky cam and there was no character or story to follow, so the gimmick got old very quickly. Impressive effects and stunts for sure, but they should have brought in some other writers. There was such wasted potential here.

And seriously with all the technical achievements in the film I'm sure they could have used some steady cams and then someone might actually consider wanting to watch it a 2nd time. This appeared in my local cheap theater very quickly after release and I see why. What a shame.

I think they were going for a Kung Fury type of thing.

At least with Kung Fury it was better in every way.

I definitely did not get a Kung Fury vibe from this. I see what you mean with the over-the-top action, but hell, Kung Fury had a lot more character development and story and it was 1/3 the length. Kung Fury is a very different kind of humor, too.

A sad day when good action gets poo' poo'ed by hipsters with poor taste.

So needing coherent action, a story and relatable characters is poor taste? It's clear who has bad taste here.

I can totally understand how people couldn't like this movie, but I found it to be vastly entertaining. To each their own.

What wasn't Coherent about the story?

It was a pretty Typical Hero goes to save the Girl plot but this actually threw in a few new twists.

Deadpool didn't do that.

John Wick I thought was not even close to this btw, even after watching it several times.

I like both movies but HH seems it could lend it self to more original plots whereas JW is going to fall into movie sequel tropes.

John Wick just seems too... generic. He could be anyone.

Also the name "John Wick" never carried this aura like this guy is supposed to be feared. He's some guy taking down a criminal organization... again, in an action movie. Cool.

Hardcore Henry is just about fighting your own destiny, with great characters, bad-ass scenes.

That action sequence at the end of HH gave me chills, I mean the executions in John Wick are cool, I just don't find... him all that cool I guess. He just seems boring, whereas even without talking, Henry, and everyone else has so much personality.

All the Jimmy's were awesome, Henry was awesome, the humor was great, the fight scenes were great, and it's just a fun, awesome movie.

John Wick seems like your run of the mill action movie to me.

I liked it when he pumped himself full of adrenaline, queen starts playing and he just goes on a phucking rampage
