Yeah but those countries changed their ways and pulled their boots straps up and (for the most part) made something of themselves. Germany and Japan at least became forerunners in industry and technology. As did South Korea.

I was just in Cuba two weeks ago. It's a Canadian rite of passage to vacation there, our way of telling the American government F**k You and your outdated policy towards the Cuban people. Lift the embargo, allow more investment there and let the government and it's people determine it's own future.
