Assuming that he and Thanaton are more-or-less on par, and that all the protags are on par, or close enough, to each other: he got destroyed.

Except IIRC the duel was implied to be fierce, whereas Thanaton got humiliated and rekt. There is absolutely no reason to believe Baras is merely on par with Thanaton.

Nothing implies it. It says Baras got challenged and defeated by Wrath. Also, Thanaton has a higher rank than Baras, IIRC, since he isn't a member of the Dark Council... or I completely went whacko and forgot that he was on the Dark Council.

Baras was on the DC...after the Wrath killed his master.

So did he become apart of it in some trial or did it just pass on to him?...

Baras after reaching the Dark Council proceeded to cow half of them into submission, and actually believe he was the freaking avatar of Vitiate. He had a permanent boon of power from Sel Makor that was greater than what the latter gave Fuminiss, who was going to use the gift he was imparted to drive the entire planet mad. Baras is simply better than Thanaton.

Baras did as well as he did against the Wrath with formidable borrowed powers from Sel-Makor, which he doesn't have access to here. Moreover, nobody managed to answer my question in the other thread - what can we attribute to Baras' saber skill?

Being on par with Hope! Shan, avoiding Nomen Karr, getting wrecked by Wylett.

So not a lot.

He did fend off Angral's assault, did he not? Still not enough to beat Shaak, IMO.
