Kenobi damn-near stomped him, and I'm pretty sure Dave confirmed Maul's fight with Viszla is just for show, and in reality he'd get murked.

There were times when Maul didn't have control of the fight

Which, as per Filoni, was only for visual flare. In reality, he would've died quickly to Maul.
