A'Sharad Hett when he fought against Obi wan vs Ventress. Who wins?
Jmanghan
...Didn't he lose badly to Obi-Wan?
I mean he didn't stomp him but I can't remember if Obi-Wan really struggled.
MythLord
Kenobi did get hit in the face, but I'd back Asajj.
SunRazer
Nah, Asajj wins. Hett only managed to perform comparably well against Obi-Wan with environmental advantages against a post-prime Kenobi.
Trocity
2 years after ROTS shouldn't be much of a decline considering how well Ben performs against Vader almost 2 decades later.
And sand being an advantage for Hett is overblown tbh.
SunRazer
It's not a drastic decline, and if anything, it doesn't amount to much, but it's there. Then again, Ventress never fought RotS Obi-Wan, so I guess it cancels out.
Not sure what's being overblown about Hett's advantage here. He had an advantage, which is backed up by sources. Ventress performs similarly well against Obi-Wan without these advantages. She wins.
Trocity
Can you post any source other than Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi for the environment advantage? The only one I've ever found is that one, from Kenobi's POV, which says "Hett is better at fighting in the desert" before the fight commences.
MythLord
- The Life and Legend of Obi-Wan Kenobi
Apparently the reasoning behind why Obi didn't block each blow easily was because of Hett being able to fight on the sand and in the desert heat much better. It's a stupid reason, but hey... that's Star Wars for you.
Also, Kenobi was holding back and the moment he realised he's fighting for Luke and not just for himself he murked Hett.

Okay yeah, I remember that quote.
Interesting, I didn't remember that. I seem to recall him saying he doesn't want to kill a former Jedi, but he was prepared to do whatever it took to prevent him and his Tuskens from hurting any more innocent families on Tatooine.
Anyway, thanks

Obi-Wan viewed Hett as a major threat, enough that small things like footing mattered and Kenobi was taking him completely seriously- also he did win the duel thank to a force-move rather than a sword-move, Jedi Hett seems relatively vulnerable to force attacks.
So, should be a good fight regardless, I could see either potentially winning. Asajj's force offense may be the edge she needs, if she uses it.
JKBart
ASdjj wins 10/11 asll reallyh

Viewing him as a major threat doesn't negate the fact that Kenobi didn't really have to struggle to win.
SunRazer
@Trocity - Wollf's already replied to you, but I believe there's also a Fact File or some other third-person source which describes Hett as being advantaged by the environment.

He wasn't having an easy time in sabers, and Hett landed a hit early on, which considering Kenobi's defenses, is impressive.
It's just Kenobi blew through Hett's crap force defense and, yea.
Jedi A'Sharad is a lopsided foe with good sabers, weak force. Overall, Kenobi's above him, but in a pure blade matchup IMO it'd be a really long fight.
