And no--Obi-Wan couldn't solo the B-Team, let alone "without much effort." When he heard Sidious beat Mace and the B-Team, Obi-Wan was convinced that he and Yoda together wouldn't be a match for him.

Sidious butchers. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are absolute non-factors.
