I like Ray, but I think Binary is too much for him.

i agree with zop zop.
at his peak Tyrrel has the power to match Carol as Binary, but averaging out his character portrayals he'd loose. in JLTF he was too much the hot head. in his solo run his novice/neophite rookie mistakes outweigh his good showings.

What about his Freedom Fighter appearances? Or was that another Ray? I don't remember him being hot headed in those issues.

it's close. i've always found binary to be overrated. she has a couple decent feats but not too much else. usually it's just zomg!! it's binary so she winzz! she's mid herald at best, and a case could be made for low heralds taking her out imo.

At best, Ray would be around mid-high herald. Especially after he got control of his powers. Didn't he go up against the League at one point?

He also nearly one shot killed Superboy, by accident.
