For the 3 years I've been heavily into the EU, when discussing skilled lightsaber wielders outside of the PT, Kenobi has always been more or less the measuring stick when gauging their accolades/feats. Where or why do you think of all duelists he happens to be the one that seems to define the level of skill of highly respected duelists? Does it happen to be because of the Nick Gillard rankings, he's a good place to start, or what posters do you think created him as a benchmark for the likes of highly respected Jedi/Sith lightsaber wielders in the EU? If we were to tier duelists based on their accolades/feats, what duelists would be the closest to Kenobi in overall accomplishments/accolades in combat and which one would give him a good fight without necessarily winning?

Where do you think the other PT Jedi compare to duelists like Ulic, Malgus, Jaina, and Cade who lacked exposure but are usually regarded as among the best produced by the Sith or Jedi orders? Where would they fit in the scheme of things?

Kenobi is the best Soresu practitioner in history, he'd give Mace a hard time in sabers.

Kenobi is one of the most skilled individuals in Galactic history and has decent ability in the Force. He's a good measuring stick.

The Ellimist
1. He's a popular character
2. He's got lots of fairly consistent showings
3. He's really good, but not so godlike that he cuts off anyone from being put over him
