It's sad that I don't recognise like, half those names.

Sounds a bit all over the place. Every episode is introducing a new character, and villains are being thrown around like candy as opposed to focusing on a few for an overall plot. You should just focus on the original First Class team for a first season

The first season would focus on the original team. The second season would focus on the new team after the season finale. A lot of the episodes would be loosely based off the comic series. Most themes would take inspiration from the xmen first class series timeline movies.
