Vanguard
Cyclops. Even though I don't like the guy.

Killer Frost stomps. She's on another level.

While I agree she's on another level, not sure if I agree she'd win under these stipulations. Unless she has some great speed or durability feats I don't know of?

zopzop
I love me some Killer Frost but this is a bad match up for her. Cyke's OBs aren't heat based at all, they're force beams. He's damn accurate with them too.

Flyattractor
I would think that Cy would have bit of a range advantage.

I thought she was able to absorb energy in general

Even kinetic energy? That'd be like trying to absorb a Thunder clap. I don't know if she can.

Galan007
What's stopping Frost from absorbing all the ambient heat around Cyclops, thereby freezing him outright?:

Or just freezing him directly?:

*And her constructs can at least shield her from various misc. attacks that are not strictly heat based.

Cogito
^ Presumably the starting distance and the assumption that Cyke can blast before getting frozen.

Lucky Vic.

Surprised it's so easy to take his helmet off, though. Guess Batman's brilliant detective mind hasn't figured that out yet.

Her constructs(and physical durability) can also withstand GL attacks, non-heat attacks from FS, blasts from Weather Wizard's wand, etc... And *any* attack with warmth will only amp her.

Tell me more... big grin

Zack M
KF was sucking the heat/energy from the friggen sun.

StiltmanFTW
Explains her hotness.

Galan007
She also tanked the most powerful fusion blast FS has EVER produced. Though she was admittedly absorbing the sun's energy simultaneously.

...But apparently Cyke's optic blasts produce no heat/warmth whatsoever..? I honestly have no clue.

They are concussive.

This.

They're literally like a really hard punch. Pure kinetic force.

Galan007
So no increased heat at all, then? They are ambient/room temperature? Okay.

Still see no reason why she can't just freeze him via a few different methods..? /shrug

She's incredibly powerful. She already caused a massive sunspot by draining the Sun's heat. I don't remember the exact words but it was said she'd destroy the Sun if she wasnt' stopped.

They're not supposed to. Maybe as a side effect of the friction at best.

Marvel ignores that all the damn time:

Bar some friction, no, iirc.

I think most people are thinking from the "who can fire first" side of things. She has a lot more options, definitely.

Haven't there been times where the writer didn't do his research and said they were LASERS or heat beams or whatnot?

On a related note of people getting it wrong, a documentary(SUPERHERO SCIENCE I think the name was) that was looking at real technology similar to comic book powers had compared Cyclops's blasts to an anti artillery system that used LASERS to heat up rounds so they blew up half way to their target.

Yeah, like stilt posted. Some people be idiots.

Yeah, I mean she's definitely withstood attacks that are > Cyke's optic blasts, imo. She can also absorb ambient heat energy from the atmosphere, and even bodily heat energy... Which obviously isn't good for a 'normal' human, like Cyke.

And this is all secondary to her own ice-based attacks, which are considerably lethal:

You'll get no argument from me, at least apart from the idea that the blast is still hitting her even if she tries to siphon off the friction from it, an I don't think the effectiveness will be negated much.

Then again, like you said she has taken some pretty hard shots before.

Not the usual spite thread from Golgo, at least.

Galan007
Golgo didn't make this thread, hence why it's not spite. stick out tongue

At least you always try to give him credit, though... What an upstanding mod. thumb up
