How well did he do? Did he really stand a chance?

He was pretty good in Sabers only, iirc. Still, he didn't satnd a chance. If he wanted to, Luke would've ragdoll him again.

Caedus survived by using TK to pull himself toward a Yuuzhan Vong torture rack elsewhere in the room, otherwise Luke would have had him in three lightsaber strikes.

He was constantly on the losing end, his every movement futile and Luke retaliating at every opportunity. He was fighting for his life, dominated completely from the start.

On the other hand, surviving for so long against a clearly bloodlusted post-NJO Luke Skywalker is still something to behold.
