Good match but Bruce in every way.

Depends. Since Ip Man actually taught Wing Chun (or at least one of his senior students did) to Bruce Lee, quite obviously he could kick Bruce Lee's butt at the beginning of their relationship. Later, once Bruce Lee had left and evolved his own style that drew from more sources and had gained more experience, it would have been a tougher match. Seems like Ip Man smoked opium which affected his health, so by the end it would have definitely been in Bruce Lee's favour.

Difficult to say who would have won if both had been at their peak, though it would have been a spectacular match.

we are talking movies not real life so even if you took all of Bruce high showings in all his films, Ip man still dummies him; this guy fought to a standstill with Mike Tyson and ended up beating the big white boxer in the second film after taking a brutal beating. He's way too skilled for Bruce to handle; dude took out like 10 black belts without even breaking a sweat, the only time he was ever truly pushed to the limit and got hurt was when fighting the boxer and thats only because the ref slanted the rules in the boxers favour (no kicks allowed) and the boxer hit Ip with a cheap shot after the bell rang to end a round.

If you're going by the movies then the fight becomes even more problematic for Ip Man. In real life I think he had a pretty good chance to give Bruce Lee a very good match when both were at their peak, but Bruce Lee's on-screen speed, strength and skill feats are the reason he became a legend in cinema history.

yes, Bruce Lee on screen was a beast, but he doesnt have the feats that Ip Man does, the guy casually walked through virtually every fight he ever had through 3 films. Bruce aint gonna be able to break Ips defences simple as that.

IP Man has not face greater opponents on screen than Bruce. That is totally incorrect. IP Man would be a great match but would lose due to Bruce superior strength, striking power, speed, agility and versatility.

Robert Barker in Chinese Connection who was bending metal around his arm and punching nails in wood with his fist is stronger and greater than any opponent IP Man faced.

So is Chuck Norris and kareem Abdul Jabbar. If you want to talk about ease, Bruce has handle more opponents at once with ease than IP Man.

Yes bending an iron bar and punching nails is bordering Super human. I'm not sure if a human can do these things without the aid of chi power.

People seem to forget that if you are going to include all of Bruce Lee movies (which includes Chinese Connection) then he is pretty much approaching superhero status. The guy reach peak human ability in Chinese Connection something IP Man never did.
