Being Sabers only prevents Maul raping, but he should still win solidly. Luckily for Maul- Padawan Ani can be as clumsy and overconfident as Maul. So there's really no advantage for this young Ani.

When has Maul presented himself as being clumsy? Savage was clumsy not Maul.

It's him losing to padawans.... Even though there is somewhat a valid explanation for it.
