The Ellimist
Rank the characters that would be the most useful for a conventional galactic war, handwaving the issue of loyalty/public relations.

darthbane77
Thrawn and Revan come to mind for strategy.

The Ellimist
It might be DE Sidious.

DarthAnt66
Bastila Shan, Thrawn, Ackbar, Revan, and Palpatine all come to mind.

|King Joker|
Revan because of his tactical ability / fighting ability, Thrawn for his tactical ability, Ahsoka (because **** you) to set up intelligence and networking infrastructure, Anakin because of his fighting ability / piloting ability, Palpatine because duh, Bastila because of Battle Meditation, etc.

carthage
Darth Bane for cannon fodder soldiers to die on the frontlines

UCanShootMyNova
Revan and Galen.

Sinious

No particular order, except that Palpatine and Luke are probably at the top:

Palpatine
Luke
Nihilus
Vitiate
Plagueis
Revan
Yoda

relentless1
Sidious

Bastila Shan, Thrawn, Ackbar, Revan, and Palpatine all come to mind. Assuming that all the sides of the conflict have equal numbers and resources:

Thrawn
Darth Sidious
Revan
Darth Traya
Bastila Shan
Ackbar
Satele Shan

DarthAnt66
Well, Thrawn, Revan, and Ackbar would serve as commanders.

Bastila would win any engagement she participates in.

Kreia and Satele are absolutely useless in a large-scale conflict.

Palpatine can probably solo any empire with his Force storms.

Picking Bastila for BM when there's Yoda is pretty kekworthy.

Well, you can use Bastila for other things, tho.

DarthDuelist9
Maul for creating an army in a short amount of time.

Beniboybling
Obviously not a Sith as I'd rather not be guilty of various war crimes.

MythLord
I'd pick Yoda or Luke since they're the best, on-paper, but they aren't men for conflicts and would play mostly passively.

So Anakin. Close enough to them in raw power, and much more ready to be a battlefield commander. Besides just him, there's Force users like Nihilus or Sidious, but they're Sith and... not going that route.

As for non-Force sensitives, Thrawn, Ackbar and General Grievous are pretty good picks.

Nephthys
Dread Masters.

The Ellimist
Sidious is above the Dread Masters in every meaningful way. But the answer might even be Anakin given his eventual potential.

Empirically we'd say Luke, given that he wins like everything.

JKBart
Some random guy on a remote planet in the Deep Core so I don't have to be a retard fighting in a war

Bane?

Oh wait, he wasn't in the deep core. mmm

ILS
Pre-ANH Obi-Wan.

He literally isn't allowed to lose until ANH. GG.

Where does it say that?

Where does it say that? The countless times he's escaped death. He could solo pretty much any conflict on any scale via Sokan. All the better if Filoni is in the director's seat. laughing out loud

Thrawn's the only one you'd really need, because he's a stu.
