I don't cross GL fts though and even if I did, Alan is a different character all together from weakeness all the way to power type.

Kyle Rayner was used as a stand in for Hal, even though his ring is completely different and so is he (works on yellow, recharge etc).

If you're going to use something that isn't canon to the versions here, you can't complain about this. Especially when it is the correct Superman.

From Phil's revamped Superman respect thread. Superman fights Captain Thunder(FLASHPOINT Captain Marvel) and his universe's Cyborg and Abin Suir. Does just fine while trying to talk sense into them. But when he gets serious? Wrecks Captain Thunder.
