The city fights back.

Who wins?

I have been out of the Transformers loop for a while now. What kind of artillery and defenses does Metroplex have? I'm just having a hard time seeing him soak blasts from 'zilla(who IDW has been particularly kind to.)

Well, he did two shot destroy Six Shot. A backhand, followed by stepping on him.

But that's not what you're asking. wink

Lets see.. In the recent Till All Are One series, he's been fighting an entire mob of undead metrotitans. Soaked up a ton of damage and took out a good half dozen/dozen before being brought down.

In the last big arc where Megatron turned Autobot, he was pretty much being fired on and attacked constantly by hordes of super transforming life forms (Not Cybertronians). And this was while injured, and fending off the "necro titan" (Something to do with the ore's, I didn't really follow.)

In the "prequel" series that includes Primacy, he managed to take down Trypticon, and only got taken down by Megatron sending a corkscrew ship through his back and out his chest. (Incarnations of Godzilla himself has had problems with drill/piercing attacks.)

Basically, he's been pretty formidable. Hordes have been known to threaten him though, such as the super transformers, and the Sharktacons (Which Ironhide single handedly cleared out in melee, a GREAT feat for him.)

Yeah, I was just curious because IDW has wanked the hell out of Godzilla. Recently he steamrolled through the Greek Pantheon -- even one-shotting a few of the Olympian Gods. It took the most powerful attack Zeus could muster(to the point where he burned out and became mortal) just to *contain* 'zilla -- as he was tanking everything else beforehand:

I would have to think The Big G has the way better getting up off the mat/resurrection feats than Metro by a HUGE margin.

IDW Godzilla is the best!

What kinda power-level did those Olympian Gods have though?

Did they do Godzila/Cthulhu yet?

Quick question, what did Hera mean when she said "We are powerless against this in our state."?

Good question!

The mortals stopped praying to the gods. It was stated over and over by the other gods that they needed the morals faith. Zeus did not want to accept this, until confronted with Godzilla and discovering how weak they'd become as they were all wiped out.

So he used the last of his power to stop Godzilla, and become as weak as a mortal. He planned to live among mortals, learn from them, and do good works to gradually rebuild his power.

He was writing his memoirs to this plan. In Pompei. Guess what caused the eruption. wink

I'm pretty certain Metroplex could literally step on Godzilla, or close to it at least. He's roughly the same size as The Lost Light, which is a 15 mile long spaceship. The problem is on-panel scaling of Transformers is often borked so that characters can appear in panels together.

For some context outside of size, Metroplex treated Sixshot like an insect, and Sixshot was powerful enough to burn an entire planet in a matter of hours.

Galan007
^ It doesn't come down to size, imo. It comes down to power output and damage soak.

Truth be told, there is know way of knowing how powerful the Gods were(weakened or full power.) I just love that scene, lol.

IDW has given 'zilla plenty of other uber showings to choose from, though... I've posted most of them in the Ownage thread over the months/years.

In a lot of situations I would agree, and IDW Godzilla is incredibly powerful, but the fact that Metroplex is so much bigger than Godzilla is a factor in such a fight. For all Godzilla's power and soak idk if there's much that would show him surviving Metroplex hitting him, considering Metroplex not only weighs millions of tons but fights like a normal Transformer in h2h means he hits with an insane amount of power, and that's just physically, not including his weapons.

In Dark Cybertron and more recently vs the zombie Titans he basically moves like a normal cybertronian except he's hundreds of times larger. This was also seen when he decimated Sixshot who wasn't fast enough to dodge or avoid him.

In terms of damage soak, Trypicon was able to be dropped from orbit and was fine and Metroplex was decisively proved to be superior to Trypicon on all fronts.

I mean Godzilla could probably damage him, but Metroplex's sheer size, strength and excessive amount of weaponry would win him the day imo.
