Yes. Definitely an "assholes" kind of guy.

Why? He's a Greek; that's just how they roll.

He's the original emo. He massacred all of Olympus and slayed thousands of innocent people along the way because was upset because he killed his own family. So yeah, he graduates from ass hole to douche.

No he's not. Zeus, for one, wiped out his entire city just to make a point, after Ares drove him nuts and made him kill his own family.

After Ares did a favor for the gods, they went back on their word and didn't get rid of Kratos nightmares about his family.

For the most part, a lot of the gods brought the fight to him.

He clearly isn't as bad a person as everyone thinks.

On top of that, he was visibly upset when he accidentally killed Athena, moreso then her own father.

Sure, he's selfish, but the Gods are just sociopaths.

That's the God's business. No one ever accused the Gods of always being benevolent but if you want to talk about sociopaths don't forget to mention, Kratos as your key subject. He didn't even have a good reason for anything he did after the second game. He was just murdering shit and by the last game he wanted to destroy everything. laughing out loud

his reason in GoW 2 and GoW 3 : kill zeus.

I would have too.

Its pretty much the God's fault that his life became as screwed up as it was.

Every favor Kratos did for the Gods was thrown back in face.

Both sides of the argument are valid.

The Gods are literally all huge assholes who play Kratos like a puppet, right up until the moment he murders them.

Even Athena who genuinely seemed to care and guide him turned out to be using him from Day 1 to ascend beyond her Godhood.

Kratos has anger issues, and takes things far too far sometimes. For example, he kept killing Gods in GoW 3 despite knowing their deaths would essentially doom the planet. He also has done some straight up monstrous things to people who didn't deserve them. Like he let Poseidon's daughter(who had no powers and only crime was being born) get crushed by that cog after he solved the puzzle. He snapped Hera's neck, knowing she had literally no way of hurting him. Etc, etc, etc...

Kratos was pushed into a bad situation by the Gods and boy was he kept there by them. However, he himself became just as bad in some ways as the Gods.

The easiest thing to say is that the only person in GoW who isn't an ******* is Pandora.

Hera was one of the worst, she didn't even care about any of her children, watching on as Kratos and Hercules tear each other apart and then later on goading Kratos and continuously trying to hit him.

At least you can sympathize with Kratos, the gods were just awful because they felt like it. Every single thing Kratos ever did for them meant nothing.

They could have taken away his nightmares after the HUGE favor that he didn't have to do for them. He was doing it for himself, and for them.

Zeus honestly wasn't as bad as the rest, but Hera and Athena were some of the worst.

Lastly, towards the end, Kratos sacrificed himself for the world, he knew he would have to die to save the world, but he showed no hesitation.
