Who, in your opinions, are the most well written villains that have appeared in Star Wars thus far? Personally I have to say that Kreia takes the cake there, but I'm curious as to what others think.

Rockydonovang
vader

Darth Abonis
Denetrius Vidian. I legitimately hated him as I was reading A New Dawn

Geistalt
Kreia, without a doubt.

Sidious is close. So are Scourge, Vader, Baras, Jadus, and Malgus.

DarthAnt66
Palpatine and Vader.

Geistalt
The best part of any of the movies was when Sidious delivered the big news in RotS. That ****ing beautiful trollface. Aside in the corner.

Kurk
christopher lee by definition is the best villain, so Dooku smile

Emperordmb
Sidious without question really.

Better than vader? nah

Rockydonovang
emo ben

Trocity
Vader, Sidious, Thrawn

Kurk
well written /= most popular/wanked/nostalgic

Sidious is the most evil

Vader is just conflicted and emotional

Snoke so far is pretty badass

Trocity
Snoke reeks of overcompensation.

Palpatiine, Vader isnt a villain for most of his arc

Fated Xtasy
Imma go out on a limb and say Thrawn was well written.

Personally. I love Daala. Her single minded determination and failure build her a solid character imho.

Palpatine, Vader, Kreia, Plagueis, Thrawn, Tarkin

MythLord
Sheev, Plagueis, Tarkin, Tyranus, Thrawn, Vader, Traya, Bane, Krayt, etc.

Unbowed
Plagueis.

Plagueis. Shame he was a massive softy in the end. Trying to circumvent the Rule of Two, refusing to accept that his apprentice was going to kill him.

Emperordmb
Was Palpatine any different in Episode 5?

Kurk
Thrawn for sure
Tarkin makes it too
any of the cliche TCW villains: e.g Osi Sobeck, Admiral Trench, Cad Bane, Darts D'nar

Deronn_solo
Thrawn, imo.

Ursumeles
Thrawn is imo the second best.

Snoke had considerably more screen time than Palpatine, and frankly happened to be even less memorable than the Emperor. Though, granted, that's partly because of how memorable Vader is, so anybody he bows to is a going to draw attention. Kylo Ren doesn't have that sort of standing, so someone he bows to isn't going to attract as much attention.

Still, Palpatine in Episode V wasn't a blatant ripoff of something else, at least.
