Reading they did some test screenings back in December 2015, Which turned out poor so they did reshoots in early December 2016.

It honestly sounds like something i'd see on SyFy.

BruceSkywalker

The first part.

riv6672
Did you actually go see it? Thats a big monetary investment nowadays.

While the subsequent trailers i saw on TV made it look like a dumb fun popcorn flick (more than the one you originally posted), its still a movie i'm going to wait to see.

Flyattractor
So this is gong to be a 2 Hour Sermon on the Horrors of CLIMATE CHANGE I take it?

Meh Pass.

I haven't actually seen it

i'm only going by the reviews and they're pretty much been killing it.

riv6672
Ah. Grain of salt, then.
Like i said, not spending theater money on it, but knowing me, i'll probably enjoy it to some degree.
Hell, i watch movies on SyFy occasionally, which this reminds me of like i said. Just a lit higher quality it seems!

StiltmanFTW
Don't get the hate, it was a fun movie.

I'd figured that

anything from Roland Emmerich or even his pal Dean Devlin as this movie is his directorial debut, Critics don't seem to know how to have fun with their movies from these two.

riv6672
Or fun at all really.

Kazenji
I'll admit Independence Day Resurgence should've been alot better.

To be fair it really missed Will Smith.

They already waited 20 years to make the film, so they might as well have waited another month or two for Smith to be available. I don't really understand that.

riv6672
Good point.
I thought he hadnt wanted to return.

Patient_Leech
I'm pretty sure I read that he was busy filming Suicide Squad and would have been interested in it otherwise. But now that you mentioned it I think I also heard that he wasn't interested. So I don't know what to believe.

riv6672
Well if they could have waited, i'd have opted to wait.
While i didnt mind the Next Gen approach, seeing the old gang back together (since we basically got all of them anyway) would have been great.

steverules_2
Smith said he'd return for I think 20mill and they said no and killed his character off

Patient_Leech
^ Oh, that's probably a likely story. It all comes down to money. Thanks, Will. You ruined ID4-2.

StiltmanFTW
Great sig, steve thumb up

Reasonable price.
He averages $36 million per movie. He was asking Robert Pattison money.

This film had potential but it was wasted big time.

StiltmanFTW
What exactly you expected from it? 100 minutes. Epic disaster movie (which has been done a dozen of times).

Removing the happy ending would've made it better.

playa1258
It was a lot more boring than I expected.

Kinda dragged for me.

StiltmanFTW
You haven't seen it.

playa1258
LOL Ok.
