Where does the King of the Ants stand against One Piece protagonist?

Anyone even slightly interested in this fight?

Luffy is probably stronger and faster than Meruem imo, plus his punches won't do anything against Luffy. He'd need to use his tail to do any damage.

The King might have some crazy ability up his sleeve that can beat Luffy given his evolution capabilities, but I'd give the win to Luffy as is.

Have you seen Meruem fight against Netero?

Luffy wins because he's not as fragile as netero and is much faster than merum.

Besides energy projection, everything Meruem can do, Luffy can do better. And that's been the case since probably the Alabasta arc if we're being generous.
