Midoriya Izuku from the Sports Festival arc

Vs

Naruto Uzumaki from the Chunnin Exam arc

Fight in the Cell games arena.
Who wins?

Round 1 (ring out counts as win)
Round 2 (Ko or Kill only)

NewGuy01
Deku breaks all his bones fighting shadow clones.

AuraAngel
Deku has loads more firepower but I can't imagine him being faster than Naruto.

Deku wins both by hitting Naruto with a massive pressure wave that sends him flying. A full punch would encompass an area larger than the cell games ring.

AuraAngel
Whereupon he breaks his arm and Naruto gets up cause his healing factor is good enough to bounce back in no time.

Assuming of course Naruto doesn't speed blitz him.

Deku is the very definition of a glass cannon.

Deku is the very definition of a glass cannon. not really, he tanked a point blank explosion that sent him flying in the race section with no injury.

That said he probably doesn't want to get hit by Naruto.

Deku is an infinitely better character than Naruto, but in a fight like the one in the OP, he has utterly no chance if Naruto isn't hindered by the standard CIS he was at that point in the series. Deku will waste his attacks on Naruto's shadowclones and then Naruto will prevail. Even full cowl 8% Deku stands no chance. Now give him full control over one for all and he stomps.

That said he probably doesn't want to get hit by Naruto. Those mines were specifically designed not to be lethal. And Deku specifically used the spare wreckage from the giant robot to protect him.

Are we assuming Deku is an idiot and doesnt figure out how his opponent fights on the fly?

Also Deku has beem hit by and tanked damage without pause that is basically beyond Naruto to put out from rhe Chuunin arc.

Shadowclones are a nightmare for pre-full-cowl Deku. It's basically Todoriki without having to worry about inflicting frostbite on himself; Shouto could've continually kept making Deku waste one-for-all if not for his refusal to his his fire powers. If you've got a strat you think Deku could come up with, I'm all ears. Maybe if he had team support (i.e. Todoriki and Tokoyami

We're talking about Festival arc Deku, right? When was this?

Alright let's break this down step by step shall we so we can illustrate how utterly boned Deku is here.

Power- Now you'd think this is the one category where Deku is clearly the winner and to a certain extent he is...unless Gamabunta is involved. You know, the giant creature that can level big chunks of forest with large blasts of water. Of course, Deku's earlier feat when saving Uraraka is still probably more impressive but Gamabunta makes it much closer than one might think. But we'll just assume the boss is out because of the arena.

Speed-Deku does not know how to use his powers in his legs until after the Festival but even if he had access to Full-Cowl I doubt he could bridge the gap. Naruto is fast enough to dodge two people using basically tornadoes of claws and fans to an extent, has surprised expert ninja, and move faster than the normal eye can see(Substitution Jutstu). He utterly dwarfs any speed feats Deku has and all of that without a drop of the Kyubi's chakra.

Strength-Obviously One For All renders Deku far far stronger in terms of striking power but on average there isn't a question that Naruto hits harder. The dude tunneled through solid earth and popped out with enough force to knock someone helpless with a big upper. He also knocked out 3 people with one kick, stopped a giant snake(though he had Kyubi chakra helping him there), beat the shit out of Kiba, and make a snake explode from the inside before any of his clones disappeared. As opposed to Deku who once couldn't properly stop a nerdy dude from fighting back once lol.

Stamina-This is not a question worth bothering to answer and we all know it. Chalk another up for Naruto.

Durability-Aside from some showings against Bakugo's quirk, Deku's biggest problem is that he injuries himself far too often. Naruto, while not at a point in the story where he has suffered truly lethal damage like the Chidori, can still take a beating as well and frankly his healing factor renders this a non-issue. At best a tie.

Moveset/Equipment- Deku has two different types of Smash at this point in the story. The flick his fingers projectile and a regular punch. Powerful but extremely limited since again he hurts himself with every use. And I guess he could still have that bandage material he used when fighting Bakugo. Naruto has shuriken, kunai, smoke bombs, and ****ing grenades able to knock down an insane half-monster Gaara. He can transform into whatever his imagination desires(I actually can't imagine a way for Deku to seriously fight Sexy Jutsu but even Sarutobi couldn't do that), can clone himself up to 1000 times, substitution, summon toads, walk on walls(not really applicable here), leap large distances effortlessly, and call upon the powers of an almighty demon to basically do everything prior but 10-fold. Deku is both too predictable and too limited here. He will lose.

Intelligence-Well Naruto wins again. Deku has been tricked fairly easily by both Todoroki and mind control kid(I forgot his name) while Naruto has tricked Zabuza, Neji, Kiba, and even Kakashi. Naruto simply has demonstrably better showings when it comes to picking up on what his opponents are thinking and exploiting them. Deku isn't dumb but that is also kind of a detriment. The only way Deku can win, imo, is to use his strongest Smash as soon as he can to knock Naruto out but because it cripples him so much Deku won't do it without knowing for sure he can end it with that one blow. He'll try and figure Naruto out and that will simply give Naruto way too many ways to fight back.

Really this isn't a contest. The only thing keeping it even the tiniest bit close is the size of the arena and even then Naruto is far faster than anyone Deku has ever fought and just has way too many advantages. Current Deku, the strongest he's ever been and who can finally use his Quirk without shredding his body(well still a little bit), could not take on a thousand Narutos. And when you fight Naruto you fight 100 more people than you're expecting at the very least.
