If Filoni died we would still get Maul. For better or worse.

Check this years Celebration panel with Filoni and Pablo. They're VERY apathetic about it.

Yeah but someone else might have treated him better. In fact Anyone would have treated Maul better than the way Filoni did in Rebels.

Sidious would still wreck him and slaguhter Savage.
