any half decent gl beats jack handily.

Does wielding more rings, also amplify power tremendously or is it just like more battery life lol?

leonidas
sometimes it gives the impression of having more power, but the effects usually don't work out that way. /shrug

This. Jack is pretty cool, but he isn't in this weight class.

Stoic
Baz is a decent GL. I don't think struggling with Dr. Light is a low showing.

Does wielding more rings, also amplify power tremendously or is it just like more battery life lol? For decades now, the in-universe logic has been: more rings=more power... But that has obviously never made any sense at all.

It doesn't matter if you have 1 ring or 10, they are still only as powerful as their user's will/imagination... And since having additional rings does not inextricably bolster your will/imagination by proxy, the notion that they'd instantly make you more powerful is just a huge contradiction/fallacy. ermm

Maybe using them sequentially, heh. The rings still drain from use right? A Lantern with 10 rings could surely outlast an equally skilled Lantern in battle who might use all the energy of his ring then have nothing to fall back on. If you have 10 rings you could afford to go all out with the first few.

But if the only benefit is just a larger amount of battery life, why does no GL just use his Power Battery as a backpack and connects it to his ring. Somehow the ring has to amplify the power even if by a bit, maybe because the rings are inelligent too?

Somehow the ring has to amplify the power even if by a bit, maybe because the rings are inelligent too? From an in-universe standpoint, the "benefit" is: more rings=more power. That's the 'logic' DC established a few decades ago, when Hal first went rogue:

I'm just saying that given how Lantern rings work, the notion that additional rings would instantly make you more powerful represents a huge contradiction/fallacy. The only thing that would truly make a Lantern more powerful is increased will/imagination... And putting a few more rings on your fingers obviously doesn't give you more will/imagination by proxy, lol.

As for using their personal Batteries in such a way: that's against GL policy. The Guardians made GL rings with very explicit protocols in place regarding the duration of use and such -- they time out and deplete for a reason. If Lanterns used their Batteries in the way you described, you'd essentially get Krona's Gauntlet. stick out tongue
