I don't know how many here are even famaliar with 8BT. The Final Fantasy parody was pretty huge by webcomic standards, and the creator, Brian Clevinger, went on to pen "Avengers and the Infinity Gauntlet".
Was thinking about the series, and Fighter has a lot of Groo in him. He's really, REALLY stupid. And he's virtually unbeatable in a melee fight.
I mean, he held his own with an immortal liche indefinately, and his solution to the incarnation of his hubris in the form of a giant beast was to kill it. He also survived intentional drowning, many times. In a game called "Drownball". Plus, Black Mage tried killing him every day, and kept failing.
So how does the inspiration stand against the one who likes swords?
