In the X files and Men in Black its assumed that the government keeps an active role in maintaining the cover nature of Alien life. But if and when we learn of the existence of ET, what do you think Mankind's first reaction will be? Will we try to establish contact or do you think we'll give them time to adapt to Earth? What do you think is likely if we establish a relationship with ET?

Depends on how the "ET's" make their appearance.

IF there is intelligent life that have FTL spaceflight they will never make it here in the backest backwater one horse galaxy.

And of course there is no other life in the Universe, everything is all clumped up on this one little ball of rock, which we're currently doing all we can to fvck it up so nothing can live here in the future.
