What would each character do with it

Thanos would lose and Darksied would win.

Darkseid > Infinite gauntlet

So really you are adding a universal power at best, to Darkseid who is a multiversal being.

On the other hand you are adding a multiversal power (The ALE), to Thanos who is a trans character.

Darkseid wins either way, with or without the IG.

Thanos is more of a go getter. I see him doing more.

Darkseid is not multiversal. The IG >>>> AE. So Darkseid has a chance.

I've read the DS/multiversal thing many times here. Where'd that start?

Thats a bit of a stretch.
Characters stalemate (or outright beat) each other all the time without being in each other's league.
