I've been wondering-
Cell was able to regenerate his body thanks to having Piccolos cells. but in the Buu arc Piccolo said that as long as his head was left intact he could regenerate his body.... but Cell was able to regenerate himself even without a head. why is that?

did Gero scientifically tweak Piccolos regenerating ability or is there something i missed?

thx. big grin

Didn't Cell also have some nucleus in his head that was required for regeneration?

thx. big grin A lot of Cell's haxx regen stems from Freeza(and King Cold's) ability to *survive* nearly any injuries no matter how grievous, combined with Piccolo's ability to *heal* nearly any injuries no matter how grievous... If there are any limbs or body parts left, Cell can fully regenerate from those:

The rest of Cell's haxx regen stems from Gero engineering him in such a way that his entire makeup is stored in a cluster of cells within his head... As long as that cluster remains at least partially intact, Cell can fully regenerate -- even if the rest of his physical body has been atomized:

Power level adds on to regeneration from what I've seen. At a power level of 300, Piccolo kind of struggled to regenerate an arm whereas when he was punched (when turned to stone) and broke into a thousand pieces he was able to pull himself back together without struggle.

^ He wasn't in a thousand pieces, and most of his core remained intact. Either way, he still would have sustained massive injuries from that. So the fact that he fully regenerated in a matter of seconds is pretty impressive. Heck, Piccolo even said that regenerating was "nothing" as long as his head was intact.

Hell, as of DBS, Piccolo can even control the limbs once they are removed from his person... They can even create energy blasts, ffs.

Sharp contrast to, say, the Saiyan saga, where just regenerating one arm took SEVERAL minutes, and a good deal of effort.

It was shit writing. Cell was clear his nucleus was in his head, after regrowing his entire top half.. This proves Toriyama can't even remember what he writes in the same chapter within a few pages of each other, let alone across arcs.

Death Battle was giving the benefit of the doubt merely by pretending there was enough internal logic to make a coherant argument on Goku's behalf. The truth is, Axe Cop is more consistent across the board.
