maybe the latter Mah, speaking for myself though , never was a huge fan of punk but one of my all time fav band started out as a punk rock band THE CLASH and I loved U2 upuntil after the Josuha Tree album they were very political in the older days........before they turned comercial that is

U2 were good, but someone really should have gotten in trouble for writing the lyrics "living like a mole, digging in a hole"

nah I was too much into Deep Purple, Rainbow, Whitesnake(the older stuff by them) Led Zeppelin so I never got a liking for the likes of Iron Maiden, def Leppard and Saxxon and them. Maiden and Leppard got some good songs though but I was devoted to the old school

yeah, i really love Deep Purple and Rainbow, Ritchie Blackmore is a great guitarist. and i'm a big Led Zeppelin fan, i mean their songs just kickass. i never really got into whitesnake though.

My long time favourite has been Simple Minds, I haven't hear their most recent stuff but they went off the boil in the mid 90s. Other favourite band are The Mission, Sisters of Mercy, GenesisCurrently I am listening to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nickleback, a bit of David Gray, The Coors and a mix of different things.

Nickelback, Evanescense, RHCP... Can't remember more... Not very fond for bands...

I had a think about the initial question in this thread last night, and I tried to narrow down the group/artist that I am always happy to listen to and one that will always be played in my house, no matter how old I get........

fave band is slipknot, closely followed by nightwish. Rather oddly different styles but i love em both i've always regarded rammstein high, sonne being the song that got me listening to my type of music, and atm cant stop listening to mein teil

ive got many...but one of my top favorites is Fuel...theyre awesome!

Frenzal Rhomb, because they are australian, they have a great live show, they are all top blokes and they make punk rock cool!

The Beatles--

All you really have to do is listen to Abbey Road to appreciate their brilliance; tracks 9-16 (The Long Medley) have more greatness than most bands have in an entire career.

Then when you look at Sgt. Peppers, RUbber Soul, Revolver...they put out at least 4 of the 10 greatest albums of all time in a seven year span. Add the social impact that has not yet been equalled and you have the first band that truly transcended music (Elvis wasn't a band folks).

Look at the songwriting duo of Lennon-McCartney; when they work together (Abbey Road) they are just brilliant, but even when they are alone (The White Album), they still show that they can stand alone as song writers. Just think of all the great songs that The Beatles had.. Yesterday, A Hard Day's Night, A Day In The Life, the list goes on. And if you look at those three songs that I mentioned, none of them really sound similar to eachother. They didn't just stay with the same formula but just evolved.

I didn't even mention George Harrison, but my fingers grow weary.

i'd say my second favorite is Leftover Crack right now...if you haven't listened to them they're a really great punk band

U2, because of many things... great music, love how the Edge plays the guitar. The lyrics are awesome and because Bono went to my country and dedicated Mothers Of The Disappeared and also Bullet The Blue Sky this songs to what he saw there and felt...

Simple Plan are just as much sell outs as blink-182, which I am pretty damn sure is who you would say ARE sell outs if asked. The difference is that blink are tolerable half the time...

APC, Incubus, or Tool for me.

Opeth, because they are completely without match.
