You'd think if the Justice League couldn't do it, Superman by himself wouldn't.

But he operates off the inverse ninja law. As part of the JLA, he struggles with Starro. By himself, he simply body slams the main Starro before he can even send a single drone.

Which he has, in comic. Treated him like an afterthought.
