These two have a ton in common, and it's something I've wondered about since season 1 of Rebels.
Both have been trained by one of the Jedi Order's best duelists (Even Piell for Pavan, Depa Billaba for Jarrus). Both tried to cut themselves off from the Force after the rise of the Empire. Both were involved in the formative years of the Rebel Alliance. Both found a teenage street urchin who was unusually strong in the Force and took them under their wing. Both had a Twi'lek love interest. Both fought and (rather situationally) defeated accomplished Jedi killers (The Grand Inquisitor for Jarrus, Aurra Sing for Pavan). Both have struggled against standard Inquisitors, but proven themselves capable of defeating an average Inquisitor in a 1v1. Both have faced off, but were ultimately no match, against Darth Vader. Both have been in the possession of a Sith holocron (though only Jax used his).
There are just too many similarities between these two characters, and so far I don't think I've ever really seen anyone give Jax Pavan so much as a passing thought when it comes to versus match ups.
So, ground rules for this engagement:
Kanan as of Season 2 finale, before being blinded (I consider this to be Kanan's peak, however if you can make a valid argument for him having grown after being blinded, feel free to use a version of him from later in the timeline).
Jax as of The Last Jedi (the book that capped off his story, not the recent movie), but without the knowledge from the Sith holocron, and without the pyronium (as we still don't really know what all it can be used for).
Fight takes place in an abandoned Star Destroyer, combatants start thirty feet away from each other.
Round 1: Lightsaber only
Round 2: Force only
Round 3: All out
