Isn't Balder invulnerable to anything but mistletoe?

Well, the whole point of the spell is, as soon as he's killed, Ragnarok starts.

I suppose he could still be hurt, without being killed. But has he, in comics? Has anyone even tried?

God of War pretty much interpreted it as no pain receptors, and a Deadpool like healing factor.. Never seen how damage plays out in comics.

Not for this fight, he isn't. Balder before his death. With the spells intact.

If Thor wanted to he could have been greedy and taken the 10th dimension.
