With the help of a drug which even Thor admitted would have lost

Damn edit function. Can't edit original post, but this was the next page after the Iron Man and Thor fight

When they fought one on one, Thor stuck a needle in his butt and knocked him out cold, he didn't want to kill him because he would have killed the people in the building. The two girls Graviton was getting rapey over so he needed the drug.

and? That was a tactic. Which didn't matter as graviton clearly showed he could toss thor around easily and take control of his hammer. Thor had to gamble that graviton wouldn't let the building come crashing down using the drug.

Then in Avengers when they fought one on one graviton quickly put him down to his knees

Lol at this Graviton butthurt going on. I don't understand how in any way shape or form can this even be debatable when we have the comics showings us Graviton's superiority clear as day.

You're doing a good job though, KM. thumb up

Putinbot1
Thor is always gimped in team books, the day I see him pull the shit he pulls solo in Avengers I will be very surprised. Thor's highs are ludicrous. Hence how in his own book he won with the syringe in the butt move.

krisblaze
Thor could just hit him in the face though

operator616
Thor actually let go of his mental blocks right before the first Graviton encounter. In Avengers #149 (which is a couple issues before the Graviton story in Avengers #158-159) he says that he will no longer hold back like he previously did and goes on to solo a being who defeated all the avengers iirc. Which was pretty evident since in his solo title thor was humbling Ego and Galactus, and drawing magnetic power from galaxy, causing worldwise storms, stopping time etc.. While in Avengers title he was hardly doing anything impressive.

Yeah and then he started holding back again a lot of the time until he beats up Iron Man and says "In this time and in this place I'm not holding back". Thor has always been more powerful on his own.

Or maybe i just have a photographic memory.... like the taskmaster.

There a word for that.

Nope

I think of it more as genius.

the odd graviton reaction is kind of funny. lol never really thought of him as being a character anyone cared too much about one way or the other, but his feats are, i thought, pretty undeniable. anyway, unless we assume thor tries transmuting him, i don't see how he wins. even his lightning failed more than once. /shrug

in abhi's world, it shouldn't matter what we think thor's does here though, since he's sure orion would beat thor anyway, so....this thread puzzles me... mmm

cdtm
Thor wins, with ease.

I don't see what's stopping Thor from just lightning'ing Hall.

Photobucket is allowing hotlinking again!!!!

Thor definitely has a way to beat him though, he can teleport him to the emptiness of space.

And the reason why Thor had to depower him was because he didn't want to kill him. There's no reason why he couldn't just punch him instead.

Uni-power Spides seemed to have Hall's number with a simple energy blast, if Thor did that instead of using lightning again then that too would work.

hmmmmm?

Here Graviton instantly shunts from the Earth to the Sun in a split second.

Used the suns gravity to slingshot him back to the earth at near light speed.

Here Graviton is cruising through space on the compound he had in West Coast Avengers. He stole an atmosphere from another planet and reached a perfect combination of oxygen and nitrogen and other gases so he could survive.

Sending him to space or another dimension won’t work either. Also not entirely in character for Thor regardless

Concerning cosmic spider-man he took him by surprise. He had no idea he had the uni power and thought he was just regular version. Cosmic Sm blasted graviton and sent him flying. He was shocked after he got blasted but was fine and said maybe he should take on someone less formaible like galactus

krisblaze
"My blood boils when I think of how I was defeated by Thor...and exiled to the interdimensional void. For months I drifted in a state of suspended animation. No doubt I would still be there if it weren't for a sudden influx of an energy released by a bizarre construct passing through the void."

-K-M-
And? Not like Thor did it on the fly or even during the fight

To repeat sending him to that dimension/dead space where his powers wouldn't work he first has to knock Graviton out or in that instance use a drug. So not entirely a viable tactic

It's entirely viable because he has shown to be capable of use teleportation as an attack via energybeams or lightning.

At any rate the comic sort of collapses under its own logic. Instead of risking the death of Graviton, by physically attacking him, Thor would rather put him in a coma and leave him in the interdimensional void, which is sure to kill him.

Thor and Orion would have a harder time with Graviton than Surfer. Surfer's powerset may give him a more discernable edge.

DarkSaint85
Lol I just love how in KM's scans, Thor is KOed by his own lightning.

Rage.Of.Olympus
Thor from his own title is a very different beast from Avenger's Tuesday barbecue Thor. He'd win.

Yep. Cant compare Surfer to any other Heralr tbh.
