The early 1990's lineups:

JLA:

Guy Gardner
Fire
Ice
Blue Beetle
Booster Gold
Martian Manhunter

JLE:

Hal Jordan
Rocket Red
Wally West
Power Girl
Animal Man
Silver Sorceress

Who wins?

Faceless808
Edge to JLE.

Dammit.

How does red-white-and blue Hal and Wally even make sense for a European team?

cdtm
Swap out Flash and Hal, add in Metamorpho and Captain Atom.

Still JLE comfortably. That eas a weak ass JLA line up.
Guy of that era was inept (much better toward the end of tje decade)
Fire and Ice only moved out of C grade status toward the end of the JLA tenure
Beetle was written as a looser (not like he eas toward his final daus in JLA)
Booster at that time could get around his own ego, and was more a hindrance than help (both He and Ted were written MUCH better in Extreme Justice)

That leaves Jonn' as the only one who can stand any ground vs the JLE line up. Nathaniel, Karen, or Silver Sorceress can all take him and I could make arguments for Metamorpho having a good showing vs him

Looking back on it (having been in the Army), it does, in the same way the military has ppl stationed overseas.

At the time though, i remember being disappointed the team wasnt comprised of actual european characters.

Isn't that really more the JLI Roster?

Pillow Biter
Wasn't PG at a fraction of her power during JLE?

Yes, still able to go toe to toe with Captain Atom.

She was actually drawn worse then "skinny man" Carol Danvers.

Square jaw, very masculine look.
