So no, the Force doesnt just make them equal regardless of training. She has the same potential as Kylo, but is still a Padawan. Hence the need for those Jedi Books.

He only lost once, and that was when he was severely injured and emotionally hindered

TBH, this means absolutely nothing continuity-wise.

Rian confirms in the commentary that Kylo and Rey are equals as represented by the force pull struggle with Anakin's lightsaber.

I believe "absolute equals in that moment" was the phrasing.

So it's still possible that Kylo ~ Luke

Also that Lightsaber calls to Rey, not Kylo. As we saw back in TFA.

Unfortunately yes.

A lot of people have argued like crazy that theyre equal. Usually to big up Snokes feat of dominating her.

Which is pointless. Judging by the lightning bitchslap, Snoke could easily do the same to Kylo, regardless of the fact that he's stronger.

the movie shows they have the same innate power and also shows kylo to be waaaay more skilled

So, that means Obi-Wan=Anakin because both Force pushed each other on Mustafar when they clashed with their hands.

Great point

Ventures and Luminara also stalemated a force push. Doesnt mean they are all exact equals in TK.


And Theres also the fact that specific Lightsaber calls to Rey, not Kylo. Which is why its not always that simple for a superior telekinetic to simply grab his opponents lightsaber off him.

As for Luminara and Asajj Ventress, we legitimately have no reason to assume that a pre-prime, sub-TCW movie Obi-Wan, Asajj is more telekinetically powerful than Unduli. While she no doubt became that strong later on, Asajj at that point lacks any really notable feats to suggest she should be noticeably above her.

These are some pretty shallow arguments.
