Spidey came pretty close to defeating Johnny Storm. But, he had a physical presence... Fire is entirely made of..... "fire".

Can Spidey beat someone like this?

Forget the Aquaman stuff that happened years later, this Despero shrugged off Guy Gardner and Martian Manhunter. This is the first time he was actually hurt.

Well, she seems to be impervious to conventional harm.

Parker is getting destroyed here, his only chance is prep. Johnny, while powerful, still had his physical form (encased in the heat aura), as you noticed.

Only thing I can't remember, is if she was vulnerable to water.

A well placed broken fire hydrant, maybe.
