I'm not a big Cavil fan, but watching him in MI Fallout, I think he could make a good James Bond.

Actually yeah Goldeneye is the movie I ended up liking the most. Might be because the game was awesome too.

Goldeneye is a top a 3 Bond film for me.

32-40 is around the perfect starting age for Bond now, imo. I'd also not mind if they did a handing-of-the-torch with the new Bond instead of rebooting, especially if they went with a younger guy. **Sure Roger Moore did it at around that age, but those films were more tongue-in-cheek compared to where the franchise is now. I also think Roger Moore used the blood of orphans to keep his face looking younger/rigorous; that's not kosher in Hollywood anymore.

Just get Taron Egerton or Colin Firth since they did a better job of being bond-like in Kingsman than Craig ever did in the Bond role.

That's my main concern, he'd be terrific in the role, but at 45 now he would be pushing 50 by his first film.

But if Tom Cruise at pushing 60 can beat up guys in their 30's and get all the chicks as Ethan Hunt, why why Idris

Why not just create a new spy character that's black instead of reusing James Bond

So Really dont see the issue with a Black Bond. Given that wouldnt change the character at all.

Bond having Blonde hair is just as superficial as Bond having Black skin. What really makes Bond is that he's British, suave, charming, a lady-killer and can kill a man effortlessly if needed. Idris Elba ticks all those boxes.

Granted, I know the character was written as a White man and when I personally think of Bond, Pierce Brosnan fits the look best in my mind, handsome/striking features, dark hair, tall and fit but not overly muscular. Idris ticks off all those boxes too expect skin color.

Hiddleston or Cavill would be my picks.

Hiddleston's great; just not sure he's Bond. Would certainly be interesting to see how he'd do in the role though.

Fassbender would probably be a great fit.

100% agreed there, he's full on Bond villain. In fact, this needs to happen regardless of who they pick to take on the role in the future Bond 26 film.

They could do an avant-garde Bond and have Hiddleston play every role, M, Q, Moneypenny, the villain, his henchmen, the sexual interest etc.

Cary Joji Fukunaga to direct the next movie, Got announced today.

Henry Cavil or Tom Hardy would be good, Hiddleston's a bit too weedy imo.

Also, an older and more intersting bond would be good with Hugh Grant in the role, if they want to do something novel.

Not really a fan of the idea of a black James Bond, just for the sake of politics. He's a British Secret Service Agent of Scottish ancestry. They don't need to be messing with the backstory.

I don't mind the idea of a Black secret agent set within the world of 007 films, Have it as some sort of spin off.

I'd vote for Cavill. Older than when he was first considered, but not too old, and can debonair but for sure is physically imposing enough to make you think he could relieve beat a thug to death if need be.

I know not everyone's hot on the idea, but Elba is my number one pick after Craig gets done with his 5th Bond. However, Elba himself said (I think around when The Dark Tower was released last year) that he'd be hesitant to take the role because he'd be known as the black Bond. Not a big deal to me, though, as he seems like the type of actor that would own being Bond.

For right now, I just really want a good send off for Craig. Anything that can wrap up his arc while being in the same quality ballpark as Casino Royale and Skyfall, please.

Yep agreed. James Bond is 007, and I know he supposedly passing the codename of "007" to Captain Marvel's friend, but even the "007/James Bond is a codename" fan theory got debunked by Skyfall. Yes, this is different, but the point is that James Bond IS 007. The James Bond 007 franchise is a franchise about one spy that Ian Fleming created. It does not need to be made into a "00-universe" or whatever the producers are trying to do to emulate the MCU yet again.

Good grief, women of many ethnicities have been represented in just the spy/adventure genre: Tomb Raider, Salt, the Mission: Impossible series, Colombiana, and Atomic Blonde spring to mind. Shoot, the James Bond series has had Wai Lin, Vesper Lynd, Triple X, Olga Kurylenko's character in Quantum of Solace, Judi Dench's M, plenty of strong female counterparts to Bond. Not to mention how lukewarm if not poorly received gender-bended films in franchises have been so far, from Ocean's 8 to Ghostbusters.

This makes zero sense from a storytelling standpoint. Bond is 007. Leave it alone.
