Police are in a very tough spot, though. It's not the public they have to worry about. It's the Department of Justice, and other regulatory groups.

Here in East Haven, CT, they were investigating a business that had license plates all over the walls, on a tip that they sold them to undocumented immigrants. The local reverend of a predominantly Latino congregation intervened, and was arrested. He filed a complaint with the DOJ, opening up a headlines grabbing investigation on racial profiling (Look up East Haven racial profiling on Google)

Of course, they ended up finding evidence of profiling. I won't call bs, because I don't know what standards they use to determine when patrols of an area with a large community of a minority group crosses that line, but considering I live a few towns over, most of my own traffic problems have included Latino residents cutting me off, or blocking me in when visiting an aunt or such. I've had troubles with non latino's, too, who usually have "Snipes" on their license plate, and fit the ptsd profile perfectly, but I digress..

The point is, they police are pretty much walking on egg shells, trying to skirt that line between the law, and keeping the various advocacy groups and government officials off their back.

The problem is it seems like democrats essentially expect us to just take these claims and believe them. I'll answer your question about my mother, but I don't feel like this will shed any real light on anything. People don't think rationally when it comes to family. I've also known my mother for decades and have had many a conversation with her...which gives me more incite into her and if she is lying than it would a random person.

If she came and told me she was attacked first I'd ask if she was okay and if she needed to go to the hospital. Then I'd ask her to tell me her story and then I'd tell her to report it.

I don't take the 'believe' part too literally, I'd drum that up to sensationalism from the media/press, I do believe it is, in essence, as I said, the overall idea should be that we don't instantly dismiss people who have made an accusation of this type, you can't uncover discrepancies and holes in their story if you don't look into the voracity of their claims in the first place generally speaking.

I often wonder how cases of so called 'historic sexual abuse', priests and the like, gain any convictions whatsoever, when a rape that happened yesterday can be very hard to prove under the right circumstances. Yet you hear of a handful of these convictions every year. Is the criteria somehow different? For an investigation certainly but I don't see how the burden of proof would change for a case that may date back decades.

It's not self-interest I'm interested in as a right-winger, it's self-sovereignty.

I believe people have a right to sovereignty over their own property, and I also believe people should help the poor. I've been putting more effort recently into stepping up with that kind of thing to put my money where my mouth is when I say poverty should be a burden voluntarily adopted by the individual, but I have a long way to go.

This is why Leftists feel that they should be the ones to tell you how you should be living your life. You shouldn't be expected to take that responsibility on yourself.

The NPC thing is so weird to me, I really have no idea what it's trying to really imply. Because let's be real, if any person were in a video game, regardless of political affiliation, we'd likely just be an NPC. Most people lead pretty boring lives, including the 4channers or Russians or whoever made it. Go to work/school, watch Netflix, read a book, go grocery shopping, maybe go on a little trip, repeat. We'd all be NPC's.

Plus usually, in video games, it's an NPC who is the most interesting character in the game.

I think even with cdtm's explanation, which was a good one, the meme still doesn't really hold much water when it comes to liberals in particular, at least no more so than any other political group in existence.
